What documents are required for a quick marriage?
A foreign national needs a valid passport. If they were previously married, they also need a document confirming the termination of the previous marriage. A Ukrainian citizen needs an internal Ukrainian passport, a Ukrainian tax identification number (RNOKPP), and, if previously married, a document confirming the termination of the previous marriage.
A certificate of marital status is not required. We arrange the translations of the foreign national’s documents ourselves, so there is no need to have them translated in advance.
Quick marriage registration within 4 working days
The standard quick marriage registration procedure takes 4 working days. Both partners must submit their documents in person and remain continuously in Ukraine until the day of the marriage registration.
Documents are usually submitted on Monday at our office (however, we agree on the exact schedule with you in advance, taking your preferences into account), and the marriage is registered on Thursday at the state Civil Registry Office (DRACS).
At the Civil Registry Office, the foreign national is accompanied by our representative and an interpreter. After signing the official civil status documents, you may also have a ceremonial marriage registration with rings, guests, and a photographer if you wish. Witnesses are not required.
Urgent marriage registration within 2 working days
If you need to get married as quickly as possible, an accelerated 2-working-day procedure is available. Documents can be submitted from Tuesday to Thursday no later than 9:00 a.m., and the marriage is registered on the following working day in the afternoon.
The possibility of arranging a quick marriage within 2 days depends on your documents and the availability of dates, so advance document verification and booking are required.
