A divorce certificate is an official document that confirms the termination of a marriage by the state civil registration authority (DRACS).
Divorce through DRACS is possible upon submission of a joint application by spouses who have no children. If one of the spouses, for a valid reason, cannot personally submit the application for divorce to the civil registration authority, the other spouse may do so on their behalf, provided the application is notarized or otherwise duly certified.
After one month from the date of submission of the application, the marriage is considered dissolved. A corresponding record is made in the DRACS register, and the state authority issues divorce certificates.
